Lite-On claims to offer first stand alone DVD recorder to write on CD-R/RW discs
Lite-On recently announced the LVW-5005, claimed by the company to be the world’s first stand alone DVD recorder model capable of writing CD-R/RW discs.
Currently available stand alone DVD recorder models can only write to recordable DVD discs – specifically +R/RW, -R/RW or both – according to Lite-On IT.
Sony was the first to offer a stand alone DVD recorder that can write to both DVD+R/RWs and DVD-R/RWs, now commonly called a DVD Dual model, Lite-On IT indicated. However, Lite-On It has implemented “AllWrite” technology in the LVW-5005, making it capable of writing to CD-R/RW discs in addition to DVD Dual, the company pointed out.
