LSI Logic and LiteOn to cooperate in LiteOn LVW-5001 DVD Recorder
LSI Logic Corporation announced that Lite-On IT Corporation is using its proven DiMeNsion(TM) 8600 (DMN-8600) DVD recorder processor as the basis for Lite-On's newest DVD recorder product, LVW-5001.
The Lite-On LVW-5001 is available now to consumers for a suggested retail price of $299 for the holiday season.
Leveraging the DMN-8600, Lite-On was able to build the first DVD recorder with DV/ FireWire camcorder input capability (Direct Digital Dub(TM)) that breaks the $300 price point. The LSI Logic Direct Digital Dub technology simplifies the transfer of personal digital content from a camcorder to DVD over FireWire, with one-touch control via a single remote.
In addition to high levels of integration, the DMN-8600 offers DoMiNoFX(TM) video technologies including TrueView(TM) Pro and TrueScan(TM) Pro that represent visibly superior digital media processing. LSI Logic's proprietary TrueView Pro technology provides the Lite-On LVW-5001 DVD recorder with a cleaner picture through 3D noise reduction. This technique is coupled with PerfectView® Pro, LSI Logic's fifth-generation compression technology, for high video and recording quality, even at very low bit rates. With TrueScan Pro progressive scan technology, clearer images are made possible on the Lite-On LVW-5001 through the elimination of video blurring in moving scenes. The integration of the complete audio and video systems, CPU and graphics engine onto a single chip makes the DMN-8600 one of the most cost-competitive DVD recordable solutions in the market today.
