Microsoft Introduces Lumia 540 Dual SIM
Microsoft on Tuesday unveiled the Lumia 540 Dual SIM, designed for young people looking for their first serious smartphone. The Lumia 540 Dual SIM features the latest Windows Phone 8.1 featuresand boasts a 5-inch HD display. It offers access to Microsoft services like Skype and Office available out-of-the-box, and enables better mobile experiences, such as taking wide-angle selfies that fit in more of the action, thanks to the front-facing 5 megapixel camera. The rear-facing 8-megapixel camera captures photos with the help of an LED flash.
The new Lumia 540 Dual SIM is capable of upgrading to Windows 10 when the service becomes available later this year. It is priced to appeal to value-conscious consumers in markets like India, the Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific, starting at $149.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor featuring a quad-core CPU running at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB5 of mass memory.
The device will start rolling out in India, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and Italy beginning in early May 2015. Pricing for the Lumia 540 Dual SIM starts at $149 It will be available in four colors: cyan, orange, white and black.
