Microsoft Surface Earbuds Launch Pushed Back For Spring 2020
Microsoft delayed the launch of its Surface Earbuds, missing the 2019 holiday shopping season.
The Surface Earbuds will come out in spring 2020, not this year as previously planned. The announcement was made by Panos Panay, the company’s chief product officer, on Twitter.
Product-making is about the relentless pursuit to get all the details right, which takes time…sometimes more than we planned on. To ensure we deliver the best possible experience for you, our fans & customers, Surface Earbuds will now launch worldwide in Spring 2020
The $249 wireless earbuds were announced earlier this year, and like Apple's AirPods, are cord free. The Microsoft version integrates with a voice assistant and can be used to control Microsoft software like PowerPoint.
Google has also been working to upgrade its wireless earbuds. The company is aiming for a release in the spring at a price of $179.
