ML Recording technology ready for market

ML Recording technology ready for market

General Interest Oct 7,2002 0

Calimetrics is pleased to announce two recent developments in ML technology and an upcoming appearance at Photonics Asia 2002 in Shanghai, China. 1 - Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) has validated ML media for both CDs and Blue DVRs. By leveraging existing manufacturing processes with only minimal modifications, MCC was able to create commercially-ready ML media.

2 - Calimetrics demonstrated a 2 GB ML-enabled external FireWire CD-R/RW at the ISOM/ODS 2002 Conference. Audio, picture and video content was written by the Ahead Software Nero interface and played back via Windows. Compact 6 cm ML-discs for mobile applications were also demonstrated.

These two latest developments in combination with the availability of the Sanyo ML ENDEC chip have resulted in ML technology being ready for market.

3 - Photonics Asia 2002: Please join us at Photonics Asia 2002. Calimetrics will present at the conference an overview of ML technology and its applicability for optical data storage and consumer electronics products in China. Calimetrics will also demonstrate ML for video applications in Booth #231 on the show floor.

Photonics Asia 2002 will take place on:
October 14 – 18, 2002
Shanghai Everbright Convention Center, Shanghai, China
