More Performance! More Storage! More Value! The AS54 is here!

More Performance! More Storage! More Value! The AS54 is here!

Enterprise & IT Jul 12,2023 0

The AS5402T and AS5404T are here! The all-new gaming-inspired AS54 series bring numerous improvements to deliver a phenomenal combination of performance and price. The AS54 series is powered by Intel's latest 10 nm Celeron N5105 Quad-Core that turbos up to 2.9 GHz. The N5105 represents a 31% performance uplift over the previous generation of Celeron CPUs while the included 4 GB DDR4-2933 of RAM that brings up to 20% more performance than DDR4-2400.

New to the AS54 are the addition of four M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs. These slots use PCIe 3.0 to allow for lightning-fast read and write speeds. Installed M.2 SSDs can be used for system storage, caching or both, and significantly enhances access speed for data on different types of volumes. This feature provides the AS54 series with the dual benefits of maximum speed and maximum capacity.

The AS54 series also comes with dual 2.5-Gigabit network ports that support Link Aggregation and SMB Multichannel for a combined speed of up to 5 Gbps. They are backward compatible with Gigabit and 100-Megabit Ethernet and deliver read speeds of up to 576 MB/s and write speeds of up to 566 MB/s when using SMB Multichannel. The AS54 comes with three USB 3.2 Gen2x1 ports that offer up to 10 Gbps of performance, doubling the performance of USB 3.2 Gen1x1. With up to 10 Gbps of performance in the AS54’s USB ports improve transfer speeds when using external drives and external SSDs. The AS54 supports 10-bit 4K H.265 decoding streaming through the iGPU and supports video output and playback through the included HDMI port, making the AS54 perfect for home entertainment and editing work.

ADM 4.2 is found on the AS54 and brings numerous improvements to features and stability. Its new quick guide feature is intuitive and user-friendly, allowing users to quickly understand the basic features of an ASUSTOR NAS as well as brand new features, including, but not limited to all-new two way share links for sharing files to and from your ASUSTOR NAS, MyArchive and the all new automatic mount and unmount features, DNS Challenge format, and support for WireGuard VPN clients.

With a focus on price to performance, the AS54 series has been able to double maximum memory support and USB performance compared to the AS52 and AS53 series. The award-winning chassis has even been improved with extra heat dissipation holes that not only help dissipate heat generated from M.2 devices, but look good while doing so. This helps prevent overheating and enhances the lifespan of SSDs, providing a reliable and high-performance desktop NAS solution for enthusiasts and content creators.
