ALCATEL ONETOUCH today announced a new software partnership with Cyanogen, Inc., which includes an unlocked phablet for North America featuring Cyanogen OS - the HERO 2+. The company also announced at MWC 2015 the new IDOL 3 smartphone. The HERO 2+ LTE phablet will be available unlocked via the ALCATEL ONETOUCH store powered by Amazon for $299 beginning in Q2 2015.

It is actually a refreshed concept of the 2015 iF Design Award winning HERO 2 phablet, featuring Cyanogen OS, with enhanced customization, security, and photo and video capture features. The HERO 2+ with Cyanogen has a 6-inch Full HD edge-to-edge display and LTE octa-core processor.

Cyanogen OS 11 is an operating system that allows users to customize their UI through the Themes app, including wallpapers, fonts, icons, settings, and boot animations. The camera comes with multiple filters and features for ease of taking selfies, pictures and videos. Cyanogen's Privacy Guard gives users granular control of personal data, and there is a host of security features – data encryption, find and wipe device, pin scramble password protection, and protected apps features.

The new IDOL 3 smartphone is packed with JBL audio with two front-facing speakers, Clari-Fi technology and Technicolor Color Enhance technology. It uses a 13-Mpxl rear camera with a new sensor, plus a front camera with a wide (84°) viewing angle for selfies. Fast Face Focus software detects faces in 0.26 seconds.

It can shot HDR real-time video at 30 frames per second. And Auto Scene Detection automatically adjusts contrast, exposure and colors to provide the best shots every time.

The device is 100 percent reversible, so users can grab their phone upside down and the IDOL 3 user interface automatically adjusts.

The smartphone is available in two sizes, 4.7" and 5.5". The 4.7" model has a quad-core CPU and HD screen; the 5.5" has an octa-core CPU and a full HD screen. Both offer 4G LTE connectivity and run on Android L.
