MWC: SanDisk Introduces New Mobile Flash Drives, iNAND 7132 Storage Solution And 200GB microSDXC Card
SanDisk today introduced two new mobile memory solutions that help users transfer content captured on their devices, the 200GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition, and the iNAND 7132 embedded storage solution. The company's first Dual USB Drive with Type C connector, and the 128GB iXpand Flash Drive, designed for iPhone and iPad, both enable users to quickly transfer content directly from a mobile device to a Mac or PC computer.
The new Dual USB Drive features a Type C connector on one end and a USB 3.0 on the other for fast transfer between next-generation devices and PC or Mac computers. The new Dual USB Drive will initially be available in a 32GB5 capacity. It features a two-year warranty and will be available worldwide in Q2.
SanDisk's iXpand Flash drive is designed to quickly transfer photos and videos from iPhone or iPad to Mac or PC computers - without cables, pre-settings, Internet connections, data caps or bandwidth limitations. SanDisk is now offering a new 128GB iXpand Flash Drive.
The iXpand Sync app, available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad allows users to automatically sync, backup and transfer photos and videos. It launches when the iXpand Flash Drive is plugged into an iPhone or iPad.
Additionally, the iXpand flash drive enables layback of videos and music directly from the drive, including non-native and PC-friendly file formats such as AVI, MKV and WMV67.
The iXpand Flash Drive features a two-year warranty. It's available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities, with MSRPs of $59.99 to $149.99.
The 200GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition, is the world?s highest capacity microSD card for use in mobile devices. In just one year after introducing its 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card, SanDisk has increased storage capacity by 56% within the same fingernail-sized form factor.
SanDisk achieved this capacity breakthrough by leveraging the proprietary technology developed last year for the 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card, and creating a new design and production process that allows for more bits per die.
Designed for Android smartphone and tablet users, this Premium Edition microSD card offers a transfer speed of up to 90MB/sec.
It features a ten-year limited warranty and will be available worldwide in Q2 at an MSRP of $399.99.
SanDisk also today introduced the iNAND 7132 storage solution, its most advanced embedded storage solution to date.
Designed for use in flagship mobile devices, the iNAND 7132 features SanDisk?s new iNAND Accelerator Architecture with SmartSLC technology. Available in capacities up to 64GB, iNAND 7132 storage solution enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to introduce a new generation of high-capacity smartphones, tablets and connected devices.
iNAND 7132 storage solution is built with SanDisk's 1Y nanometer 3-bit-per-cell (X3) NAND flash storage. When combined with the drive's SmartSLC technology, this storage solution promises to offer near single-level-cell performance when the user need demands it, with the storage solution boasting sequential write speeds of up to 1Gb per second and beyond. It also supports 802.11ac and 802.11ad network standards.
When used in optimized smartphones, the performance of the iNAND 7132 storage solution supports photography capabilities including image capture in RAW format and 4K Ultra HD video capturing.
In addition, the iNAND 7132 storage solution uses e.MMC 5.0+ specification and incorporates a sophisticated error correction hardware and software technology that enhances its endurance, and reduces latency.
Specific features and specifications include:
- Built on the e.MMC 5.0+ HS400 specification
- Sequential write/read speeds up to 125/280 MB/s3
- Features application architecture enhancements that reduce latency and support consistent performance
- Supports up to 3 fps of RAW image capture3
- Available in packages just 11.5mm x 13mm in size and as thin as 0.8 mm enabling integration in slim host devices
Samples of the iNAND 7132 storage solution are currently available to Sandisk's customers in capacities up to 64GB.
