Hitachi Maxell, Ltd. announced its new 8x DVD-R DL media will be available in the Japanese market in June. The discs are compliant with the CPRM technology, allowing recording of TV broadcasts, with corresponding recorders. In addition, the discs feature a printable surface compatible with inkjet printers. Pricing details have not been announced by the company.
