New Mitsubishi WD2000U High-Definition, Widescreen Projector

New Mitsubishi WD2000U High-Definition, Widescreen Projector

Consumer Electronics May 1,2006 0

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics continues its commitment to wide-format professional projectors with the release of its WD2000U. This affordable high-definition projector matches widescreen formats used in today's latest computer and video applications, and is designed for boardrooms, classrooms, church sanctuaries and those users upgrading to high-resolution displays.

"The presentation landscape is shifting to a widescreen format," said Frank Anzures, manager of projector product marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division. "The WD2000U makes the most of the new software and operating systems available today."

Mitsubishi's WD2000U is a native WXGA (1280 x 768) resolution, high-definition projector and utilizes Texas Instruments Digital Light Processing TrueVision DDP3020 image processing chip set. It allows for true 10-bit image processing. Blasting 3000 ANSI lumens, the WD2000U provides plenty of brightness for auditoriums and large conference rooms. Powered vertical and horizontal lens shift capabilities and an array of optional lenses, the WD2000U is perfect for sophisticated integration projects for business, education -- even home theater applications.

The WD2000U's filter-free design simplifies installation and makes the projector maintenance-free. A long-life lamp is rated for up to 5000 hours in low-lamp mode, for low overall cost of ownership not only at the time of purchase, but throughout the projector's life as well.

Mitsubishi adds its proprietary Color Enhancer technology to the WD2000U, which allows users to customize their color and display experience with the touch of a button. The distinctive visual modes (auto, presentation, standard, theater and sRGB) intelligently produce truer colors and vivid images for a desired look. The projector also boasts Texas Instruments BrilliantColor(TM) technology, which uses color-processing algorithms and system-level enhancements for greater brightness and truer, more vibrant colors.

The WD2000U projector is currently available through authorized Mitsubishi dealers for a suggested retail price of $3,995. The projector comes with Mitsubishi's three-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a 90-day limited warranty on the lamp. Like all Mitsubishi XGA projectors, the WD2000U is covered by the Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a nationwide comprehensive service that offers next-business-day replacement for down units under warranty coverage.
