Nintendo Broke US Sales Records For 'Zelda' And Switch
The Nintendo Switch sold nearly 1 million units in its launch month and has become the fastest-selling video game console Nintendo has ever made according to the Japanese game maker.
The new system sold 906,000 units in March in the US alone, according to the NPD group, which tracks hardware and software sales in the US, rather than from internal figures.
By comparison, the Wii U sold 890,000 units in its first month back in 2012 in the US.
Impressive Switch sales were matched by even more impressive sales of the system's premiere launch title, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. The game sold 460,000 units on the last-gen Wii U and 925,000 for the Nintendo Switch in the US.
