NVIDIA Cuts RTX 2060 Pricing, AMD Boosts Clocks of the Radeon RX 5600 XT
There is an interesting series of news items around the web today, two of them in particular.
The competition between Nvidia and AMD in the mid-range GPUs is on, and today Nvidia confirmed price reductions for the GeForce RTX 2060, with AMD to respond with a BIOS update for the Radeon RX 5600 XT in order to offer some performance boost.
The new price for the RTX 2060 is $299 USD.
With the new BIOS, AMD will allow non-reference MSRP RX 5600 XTs, such such the factory-overclocked models from AMD's partners, support a higher TGP value and as a result, they get more space for a higher boost/turbo clock. The new OC models will get a board power allowance of 180 Watts in total, the TGP (GPU power) is increased from 150 towards 160 Watts. The result is a boost clock that jumps from 1560 MHz advertised, towards 1700 MHz.
