Nvidia GeForce GTX 1180 Powered by New GT104 GPU Appears Online
The rumors that we might see the new generation of Nvidia GeForce gaming GPUs soon may be true, as what is said to be a GeForce GTX 11 model by Asus has appeared online listed on a Vietnamese online store.
As you see below, the GeForce GTX 1180 based ASUS ROG Strix graphics card is based on the "GT104" GPU and has 3,584 CUDA cores, and 16GB of Micron GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface. The memory is clocked at 14 GHz.
The problem is that there are many possibilities these pictures to be fake, as the price listed in local currency is translated in an insane USD $1,500.
Nvidia is obviously mum on the GTX 1180.
Besides this listing, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has recently said the next GeForce GPUs would be "a long time from now". However, Nvidia is now reportedly sending invites for Gamescom on August 21st for a PC-related event.
Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1180 -- when it launches -- is expected to be capable of playing games at 4K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. The card is also expected to be capable of outputting up to 120Hz to VR headsets over a single cable.
