Optical Laser Bundles MedioStream's neoDVDstandard DVD Publishing Solution With Panasonic's New DVD-RAM/R Drive

Optical Laser Bundles MedioStream's neoDVDstandard DVD Publishing Solution With Panasonic's New DVD-RAM/R Drive

Optical Storage Aug 7,2001 0

MedioStream, Inc. today announced that its new DVD publishing solution, neoDVD(TM)standard, will be packaged with Panasonic DVD-RAM/R drives sold by Optical Laser. In addition, Optical Laser will offer neoDVDstandard as an alternative bundle with the Pioneer DVD-R/RW drives. The agreement enables Optical Laser, a value-added distributor of document imaging, rich media and mass storage solutions, to offer its customers a single-source hardware/software solution for DVD authoring and burning.

MedioStream's neoDVDstandard is a complete end-to-end publishing solution. It enables users to capture, compress and edit video and audio content taken live from Digital Video (DV) camcorders or existing MPEG-2, DV, AVI and QuickTime files for authoring and direct recording (``burning'') onto DVD discs.

When used with Panasonic's DVD-RAM/R drive and Pioneer's DVD-R/RW drive, neoDVDstandard makes DVD publishing practical and affordable. neoDVDstandard enables users to create DVD-ready files in real-time; archive DV tapes to a hard disk drive in real-time; author DVD movies on the PC using Panasonic DVD-RAM/R or Pioneer DVD-R/RW drive; and playback DVD titles on the PC and consumer DVD players. The software also provides automatic audio/video format conversion to DVD compliant formats.

``DVD recording offers many advantages, including preserving videos forever and having a convenient way to share special memories with family and friends,'' said Gordon Doran, vice president of Sales and Marketing at MedioStream, ``We are pleased to work with Optical Laser to bring a complete camcorder-to-disc solution to their customers.'' ``Optical Laser is proud to partner with Mediostream on our DVD-R drive bundles,'' said Arsenio R. Batoy, executive vice president of Optical Laser. ``At Optical Laser, we are always looking to offer the best of breed solutions to our clients. Mediostream is a new and innovative company in this industry -- our clients will not find another DVD bundle solution with more value, performance, and innovation in one affordable package.''

neoDVDstandard is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 with DirectX 8.0 or above. The software requires one FireWire connector; AGP graphics card with 8MBs memory; minimum 700MHz Celeron, Pentium III or Athlon CPU (1.1 GHz and above for real-time video capture); 128MB of memory, 5GB hard drive and a 24-bit color display.
