Pentium 4 Overclocked to 6GHz
A Norwegian overclocker has reportedly managed to overclock a Pentium 4 660 (3.6 GHz) to the impressive 6,009GHZ, at the DreamHack LAN and Demo party held in Sweden November 24-27.
Last summer the same PC enthousiast had managed to overclock a Celeron 2.53 to 5.2GHz, by using dry ice to keep the temperature of the CPU down. This year the goal was 6GHz with a Pentium 4 660 (3.6 GHz). To reach this impressive number he used a cascade compressor system and lowered the temperature to about -100 degrees Celsius on the processor. After many attempts he finally managed to go past 6GHz. The final result was 6009MHz.
