Pioneer Announced New 50-inch HD Plasma Diplay
Pioneer introduced last week the PDP-5000EX Pure Vision Black Plasma Display, a 50-inch 1080p plasma display.
The new model, with 1920 x 1080 resolution, will be capable of displaying the entire range of High Definition sources, including 720p, 1080i and 1080p.
This display will accept both standard definition and high definition sources and automatically smart convert these to deliver the highest resolution picture possible, according to Pioneer.
Pioneer's proprietary technology that makes 1080p possible includest Deep Waffle Rib Structure, PUREBLACK Crystal Layer, new PURE Drive 2 HD Signal Processing, Direct Colour Filter and ISF C 3 capability.
Terminals on the display include Digital HDMI, DVI (HDCP), component and composite inputs.
It will be available in June 2006. No price was mentionned.
