Pioneer to Launch Hard Drive-based Car Navigation Systems in Japan
Pioneer announced the availability of four models in the
new hard drive-based CYBER NAVI car navigation systems between late May and mid-June in the
Japanese market.
The high-end AVIC-ZH990MD, available for 367,500 yen ($3,400), is a 2DIN-type
digital signal processor (DSP)-control audio-visual auto navigation server with a 7-inch built-in
touch-screen TV. There are also the AVIC-ZH990, AVIC-XH990, and AVIC-H990.
These systems offer high-accuracy traffic congestion forecasts, route preference options and management of detailed drive plans.
By connecting the removable car computer unit to a PC, it is possible to download or update music and map data.
