Sony Releases New Portable DVD Player With Led-Backlit Display
Sony plans to release the "DVP-FX950" portable DVD player in Japan next month.
The portable DVD player is equipped a 9-inch 800?480 LED-backlit display. The display supports power saving modes and automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen according to the environment to save batter life. The display can be folded or rotated (up to 180 degrees) adding viewing convienience.
The player supports reproduction of DVD±R/RW (single and double layer as well as 8cm discs) as well as DVD Video, CD-R/RW, discs with CPRM protected digital broadcasting content and JPEG/ MP3. It is also offering a USB port for direct playback of contents stored on UDB flash drives.
The player's power consumption is about 6W at full operation and about 0.1W in stand by mode. It's size is 227 x 170.8 x 34.4mm (width x depth x height) and its weight is about 0.88kg (battery excluded).
