For this test we used a various of copy protected discs and tried to backup them to the hard disk with Alcohol 120%. In that way we could test the speed of Toshiba SD-R5112 on the image making process.We used each time the default settings of Alcohol according to the protection of each disc.

From the above table we summarize that Toshiba performed fast with the psx and SafeDisc discs. The drive needed 60 sec to make an image of the psx game and 110sec for the SafeDisc v2.90. On the other hand the drive needed 13min to finish the image making process with the SecuRom v.2 protected disc, but this does not affect the validness of the image.

After the end of the image making process we checked the ability of the Toshiba writer to make copies of the specific games. We used Alcohol 120% for the writing process with the default settings according to the protection of each game. We repeat each image writing process twice, once with the EMF option of Alcohol enabled and once with EMF disabled. Toshiba SD-R5112 gave us valid copies of all the games we test with and without the EMF option enabled.
