Data CD Reading Tests

From the graph above, we can see that the Toshiba drive was slightly faster among the three drives and it confirmed the manufacturer's stated speed specifications.
- CD-R results (Click for CDSpeed results)
We made a copy of the previous pressed CD in order to test the drive's behavior with CD-R media. While the average and end speeds were almost identical to those with pressed media, the start speed is a good deal slower.
Here, the random seek time is quite good, but the full seek time is a little dissapointing being a good 27ms slower than with the pressed disc.
- ReWritable Media (Click for CDSpeed results)
For the reading test we used 24x Ultra Speed rewritable media from Mitsubishi Chemicals.
The big difference here is due to the fact that the Toshiba drive supports US CD-RW reading up to 24x.
