Withings Scan Watch 2
2. The package
The retail package of the Scan Watch 2 is simply designed and has overall small dimensions (like most watch boxes).
At the back, there are several product information and product certifications.
Opening the box is simple and you will see the main attraction of the show, the Scan Watch 2, which comes with an elastic band. For our test, we received the Silver Black watch face 42mm.
Inside at the retail box, you will find the watch charger, a Type-C USB cable, and several small printed manuals/information.
Looking at the Scan Watch 2, we will find a traditionally designed watch, producing elegant results, with analog dials and a small OLED screen with 0.63" diameter and 282ppi pixel resolution-16bit grayscale, at the top and with an additional analog dial at the bottom area. The main body is made out of stainless steel 316L graded, while the watch glass is Saphire which should hold very well against scratches.
The main dial is easy to read and includes the Withings logo at the 3:00 pm mark. The second bottom dial helps you track your step goal throughout the day. The pointer displays the percentage of steps you have done and you have left to reach your daily goal. For example, if your hand points at 50, you are halfway to your goal. If it points at 100, congrats, you've reached it - unless it is 6 am, which probably means that you haven't walked much yet.
At the back we will find the main sensor area, where all the magic happens
and several other markings, like the 5Atm indication for water resistance.
The Scanwatch 2 includes easy-to-remove wrist bands with 20mm width (for the 42mm) and 18mm (for the 38mm). Withings sells many different quality straps for their Watches but you can use any wristband with 20mm width that has such clamp design
The default silicon wristband has a nice smooth feel and there are many holes to secure the watch.
Getting the watch into your hands isn't very hard, we assume you must have worn a watch sometime in your life.
The 42mm watch variant isn't very big and should be compatible with most men's wrists and preferences.
The Scan watch looks and feels very beautiful to the eye and for sure everyone will ask what this watch is all about.
Withings also sells premium leather wristbands that come in nice recyclable packaging with a secure sticker, you won't get a second-hand product if the main sticker is in its place.
For our tests, we received the black wristband called "Leather Wristband 20mm Black, Black Stitch & Silver", which costs €49.95 and is made of fine Italian leather, known for its comfort in everyday wear and ability to hold up over time. The packaging includes stainless steel buckle, and stainless steel spring bars for quick release and fits cuffs from 160 mm to 226 mm (6.3" to 8.9") in circumference.
The product has excellent build quality, you get what you pay for.
