BenQ DVDRW - Dress up your memory with LightScribe

BenQ DVDRW - Dress up your memory with LightScribe

Optical Storage Feb 12,2005 0

There is nothing more valuable than your cherished memory - those digital photos taken with friends, videos of your daughter’s birthday party, or your favourite music, which had all been burned on CDs and DVDs. Do you mark them with only a pen or sticker? BenQ announces that it will be launching the BenQ DW1625 DVD ReWriter with LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling Technology, to dress them up. LightScribe Technology will enable consumers and businesses to easily create customized, silkscreen-quality labels directly on CDs and DVDs using their own PCs through a combination of LightScribe-compatible media, recordable optical drives and special software.

Consumers can burn the data side on a disc as normal, then flip the disc over and burn a meticulous label with desired text and graphics, using the same laser that burns the data. No printer, permanent marker or adhesive labelling is necessary anymore. LightScribe labels require no ink supplies, can be burned anywhere and do not take up data space or peel off in the disc drive.

Together with LightScribe and BenQ’s leading DVD-RW technology, consumers benefit from the very best hassle-free technology and application in a combined offering. BenQ has consistently led the industry in innovation of both speed and quality. Now incorporating LightScribe, BenQ is once again at the forefront in offering end-users the latest unique feature for storage products.

The BenQ DW1625 will be available in most markets in middle of March, with a MSRP of Euro 99.

Other Specifications:
2.4x DVD+R Double Layer writing
16x DVD+R writing
4x DVD+RW writing
8x DVD-R writing
4x DVD-RW writing
16x DVD reading
40x CD-R writing
24x CD-RW writing
40x CD reading

* The LightScribe patented technology was developed by HP
