A-Data launches 4GB 200x MMCplus card

A-Data launches 4GB 200x MMCplus card

Consumer Electronics Aug 5,2005 0

Following its recent announcement of a 4GB 150x (22.5MB/sec; 1x = 150KB/s) SD card, A-Data Technology has just unveiled another high-end flash-memory product, a 200x 4GB MMCplus card.

Targeting “extreme professional digital-device users,” the card is compliant with the MMC 4.0 standard and provides a read speed of up to 200x (30MB/sec).

A-Data’s Turbo MMC Plus 200X product line now includes five models with capacities of 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB. The cards support Error Correction Code (ECC) technology and an In System Programming (ISP) function to load the firmware, A-Data said. The operating temperature range for the Turbo MMC Plus 200X Cards runs from -25°C to 85°C, and the cards are designed to work reliably for more than 10,000 insertion/removal cycles, according to the company.

Based on the MMC System Specification Version 4.0 (introduced by the MultiMediaCard Association in February 2004) and coming in the standard MMC form factor (32x24x1.4mm), MMCplus cards are 13-pin flash-memory cards supporting dual-voltage operation (1.8 and 3/3.3V) and multiple bus widths (one, four and eight bits).
