Sony Introduces New HD Product Line-Ups for HD Content Creation
Sony announced a new product line-ups for the growing market of HD content creation at Inter BEE 2005 in Chiba, Japan. The new products include the XDCAM HD series and the IXS-6000 series.
The XDCAM HD series, which represents the HD-ready solutions within the XDCAM product category, is a large capacity and blue laser ?professional disc?-based video system (23GB), enabling speedy HD content creation.
The PDW-F330 video camera belong to the XDCAM family of products and supports HD recording. The proffessional camera uses 3 CCD elements of 1.56 million pixels, and will be available in the market in April 2006, for about 2,000,000 Yen (). The camera supports three recording modes. The HQ (about 60 minutes at 35Mbps), the SP (25Mbps) and the LP (18Mbps).
Sony also announced the PDW-F70 XDCAM HD recorder and the PDW-F30 player, and will be retail in July and April 2006, respectively.
Sony will additionally showcase the newly developed "HD super slow motion camera system" at this year's Inter BEE exhibition. This camera system can capture full-resolution HD images three times faster than previously possible.

Furthermore, the multi-format camera system HDC-1000 series, launched in September this year, received wide acclaim among broadcasters as well as the content creation industry. According to Sony, 22 broadcast stations in Japan have already adopted many of the products introduced as part of the HDC-1000 lineup.
