New GeForce 7800 GS For AGP-Equipped PCs
NVIDIA today announced an AGP version of its GeForce 7800 GPU, the new NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS.
The GeForce 7800 GS is fabbed at 110nm, and features 16 pixel-processing pipelines fed by six vertex shaders and clocked to 375MHz. It supports up to 256MB of DDR SDRAM clocked to 600MHz (1.2GHz effective).
Boasting the feature set of the GeForce 7800 GPUs, the new GeForce 7800 GS GPU features support for DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 and high dynamic-range (HDR) rendering, as well as transparency adaptive antialiasing. In addition, the device is optimized for Microsoft's Windows Vista 3D graphic requirements.
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS AGP-based graphics cards will be available for purchase at Best Buy stores as well as at CompUSA stores on Sunday, Nvidia's partners will be also offering graphics cards based on NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS AGP GPUs, including AOpen, Asus, BFG Technologies, Club 3D, EVGA Corporation, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision, Leadtek, Pine, PNY Technologies, Point of View, Sparkle, and XFX. Pricing has yet to be disclosed.
