NEC Introduces Bright Projector Under Four Pounds
NEC announced the NEC NP60 digital projector.
This automatic projector features brightness of 3000 lumens in only a 3.5 pound package. It is specifically engineered for the SMB/SOHO and corporate markets targeting road warriors and sales executives. The projector includes many automatic features including auto focus, auto vertical keystone correction, auto source selection, quick shut down and AutoSense technology.
The NP60 demonstrates an extremely high brightness of 3,000 lumens while packed into a projector weighing a mere 3.5 pounds. This feat was achieved via the adoption of a magnesium material for the main body as well as NECs exclusive hybrid cooling system promoting an efficient exchange through the fan and air pump.
The NP60 achieves a very quick setup due to key features like automatic focus and automatic keystone correction. Automatic focus instantly provides a sharp detailed image through the automatic calculation of the focus sensor. Automatic vertical keystone correction technology instantly projects a square image even when the projector is set up at a steep offset angle to the screen or projected on a rounded wall.
Quick start-up and instant shut down enables the presentation to start and end according to the users schedule. Automatic start-up powers on the projector as soon as it is plugged into a power outlet. Instant shut down enables the projector to be turned on and off from a wall switch or power strip.
The final automatic feature incorporated into the NP60 to make presenting easier and ensure quicker set-up is AutoSense. AutoSense intuitively syncs the projector with most computer signals and features one touch image optimization.
Other projectors in this series include the NEC NP40 and NP50. The DLP NP40/50/60 projectors have a lamp life of up to 3000 hours in Eco-mode and have a native resolution of XGA and can display sources with resolutions up to UXGA. The NEC NP40 has a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and is 2200 lumens, whereas both the NP50 and NP60 have 1600:1 contrast ratios and are 2600 and 3000 lumens respectively. The NEC NP40, NP50 and NP60 are now shipping and are priced at $899, $1,199 and $1,299 respectively.
