Sony PS Vita To Rollout in Japan on December 17

Sony will launch its new PlayStation Vita handheld games device on December 17 in Japan, kicking off a global rollout. Pre-orders starting on October 15, 2011. Available at 24,980 yen ($324.8) for Wi-Fi model and 29,980 yen ($389.8) for 3G/Wi-Fi model, PS Vita at launch will be accompanied with 26 software titles along with a broad selection of peripherals and accessories. SCEJ also revealed that PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi model will support data communication prepaid plans provided by NTT DOCOMO, INC. for Japan.

For the 3G network connectivity, PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi model in Japan will support data communication prepaid plans provided by NTT DOCOMO. The two plans announced today for PS Vita are "Prepaid data plan 20h" at 980 yen (including tax) and the "Prepaid data plan 100h" at 4,980 yen (including tax).

Accompanying the launch of PS Vita is a line-up of 16 peripherals and accessories to be released on the same day or soon after. The line-up includes items like memory cards for PS Vita, as well as a protective film, carrying puches, car adaptors, an in-ear headset and more.



SCEJ also announced the introduction of PlayStation 3 (PS3) system with 320GB HDD in a new "Splash Blue" and "Scarlet Red" color, available at a recommended retail price (RRP) of 29,980 yen (including tax).

SCEJ also announced the introduction of "PSP (PlayStation Portable) Value Pack" featuring a PSP system in a new "Red/Black" colors, available at RRP of 17,800 yen (including tax).

Both of the offerings will become available from November 17, 2011, for a limited offer.
