Asus Padfone 2 Coming This Week
Asustek Computer Inc is expected to unveil the latest addition to its mobile phone line this week, the Padfone hybrid smartphone.
Padfone 2 will be in unveiled at events that will be held in Taipei and Milan on Tuesday.
With the new device, Asustek hopes that it would able to gain leverage in the competitive mobile market, as the company has started investing into its smartphone business.
According to rumors appeared online, Padfone 2 will use new chips made by Qualcomm and is expected to feature a 4.8-inch display (1280 x 720, 700 nits) and a 1.5 gigahertz quad-core processor. The Android phone will also have a 13-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, LTE connectivity and will be powered by a 2140mAh battery.
The device could be combined with a 10.1-inch tablet and a keyboard dock to provide the integrated functions of a phone, a pad and a notebook.
The first-generation Padfone has a 4.3-inch display, Qualcomm's dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and an 8-megapixel camera.
