LG Brings Spotify Music Service To Smart Media Devices
Spotify will be available on LG Electronics' 2013 range of smart media products, including Blu-ray Home Cinema Systems and Blu-ray players.
Available on a selection of LG?s latest internet connected devices from next month, the Spotify application will provide users with access to over 20 million songs via the brand?s smart platform.
The new Spotify application will allow premium account users to discover new music by browsing the huge song library, or by listening to Spotify Radio on their LG Smart audio or video device. Favorite tracks and playlists can be shared via Facebook and Twitter. LG is offering new customers to the service an one-month free trial, before signing up to the $9.99 monthly subscription.
This exciting service will be available on a selection of LG's devices, including its BH9530TW 9.1 channel system.
Spotify will be available starting in April on LG Smart Media devices in the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. LG's smart devices are already offering access to BBC iPlayer, Netflix and LOVEFiLM, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
In related news, Spotify is rumored to soon branch into streaming on-demand video. The company would stream video much the same way as Netflix but also offer its own original content, according to Business Insider, which cited two unnamed sources.
Spotify did not comment on the report.
