ALCATEL ONETOUCH and MediaTek today announced the release of the ALCATEL ONETOUCH HERO, a 6-inch phablet device that combines high performance with interactive features. Fueled by MediaTek's quad-core MT6589 processor, the Alcatel OneTouch HERO supports the latest demanding applications with ease and efficient power consumption. This includes the ability to swiftly process 3D games, play full-HD 1080p movies on the go, offer DC-HSPA+ connectivity speeds of up to 42 Mbps, and operate a 6-inch display, a 13-megapixel 1080p Full HD camera, and a two-megapixel front camera that allows video chat in HD. MediaTek's solution also enables the HERO to offer touch-oriented features such as handwriting recognition and multimedia apps to unleash users' creativity.

The Alcatel OneTouch HERO includes a 3400mAh battery, which despite its high capacity, remains fully housed within the device's slender 8.5mm exterior.
