Amazon's Set-top Box Rumored To Arriving Next Month
The much rumored Android-powered dset-top box by Amazon is coming this spring, according to a new report.
Initially, Amazon was rumored to launch a set-top box before the end of 2013. Now Re/Code's sources claim that the development is ongoing and the box will be released in March.
The device will most probably run on a customized version of the Android OS, something close to what the online retail is doing with its Kindle tablets. THis would allow Amazon to provide as many consumers as possible with access to its library of multimedia content, while it could also bring some some form of gaming to the living room.
If the reports are true, the Amazon box will be going up against the Apple TV and Google Chromecast.
