Yahoo will reportedly turn social media network Tumblr into a YouTube competitor by adding videos. Business Insider claims that Yahoo is eyeing Tumblr, the social media site it acquired for $1 billion back in 2013, in order to start offering online videos.

Previous reports claimed that Yahoo was in the advanced stages of developing a competitor to Youtube, the world's largest video sharing platform.

Tumblr has already a strong user base and appeal among the younger generation and Yahoo probably wants to take advantage of it.
