Google's Project Ara Phones Set To Appear At MWC

Smartphones Feb 13,2015 0

Google's Project Ara, a platform for creating affordable and personalized smartphones, could be ready for a consumer debut at the Mobile World Congress. According to Phone Arena's sources, working phones and 50 modular components are expected to appear at Mobile World Congress, which gets underway in Barcelona, Spain on March 2.

The project Ara project kicked off in February 2014. Since then, Google has been teasing consumers with video updates and has also held developers' conferences for the project.

The idea is to build phones out of blocks that could be clipped together, allowing for easy replacements of their components -- cameras, RAM or processor.
