European Regulators To File Antitrust Charges Against Google
The EU Commission is expcted to file antitrust charges against Google in the next few weeks, according to the Wall Street Journal. Europe's competition regulator will file charges against Google in the investigation over the next few weeks, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The commission investigates whether Google is favouring its own services over competing services in its search results.
Following failed attempts to settle the case in the past two years, EU regulators have sought to update their evidence in recent months and asked some Google's rivals to declassify information. In antitrust cases, the EU can step up a probe by sending antitrust objections setting out where a company’s behavior may violate competition law.
