Tesla's Elon Musk keeps getting publicity as he briefly smoked marijuana on a live web show with comedian Joe Rogan.

Musk talked on the late Thursday podcast for two and a half hours about discussing everything from artificial intelligence and its impact on humankind to his use of Twitter.

The Tesla Inc. chief executive appeared on "The Joe Rogan Experience," one of the world's most popular podcasts, which is also streamed live on YouTube and hosted by comedian Joe Rogan. After more than two hours of rambling discussion that included drinking whiskey, Mr. Rogan lighted what he said was a blend of tobacco and marijuana and legal in California.

Musk said he "almost never" smoked. "I'm not a regular smoker of weed," he said. "I don't actually notice any effect...I don't find that it is very good for productivity."

Musk stunned investors a month back with tweets saying he had funding to take the company private for $420 per share. He then backed off from his plan saying Tesla was better off as a public company.

The billionaire's behavior has raised concerns about his leadership in Tesla.

Musk's followers on Twitter went into a frenzy following the podcast.
