Lenovo Launches PCs and Smart Devices at MWC
Lenovo unveiled at MWC 2019 new product launches from across its portfolio - from PCs and smart devices to cutting edge Data Center technology and solutions.
The latest lineup showcases intelligent devices, including new ThinkPad, IdeaPad and IdeaCentre PCs, and the newest smartphones from Motorola, including the just launched new moto g7 family and moto z3 with the 5G Moto Mod, the first 5G upgradeable smartphone. Lenovo’s Lenovo's Data Center Group also unveiled the new ThinkSystem SE350 edge server, which is part of a family of future offerings, along with new IoT and edge computing solutions.
Intelligent Mobile Computing for Business
Lenovo announced today the latest additions to the ThinkPad portfolio: the T490s, T490, T590, X390 and X390 Yoga. The latest line of premium ThinkPad T and X laptops help users stay in touch with omnipresent connectivity via LTE-A Wireless WAN, offer security with ThinkShield, high-definition displays, Dolby Audio Premium and the ThinkPad keyboard:
- ThinkShield with features such as ThinkPad PrivacyGuard with PrivacyAlert and ThinkShutter physical webcam security are available on most models
- New ThinkPad BIOS with new features including self-healing capability
- High speed WWAN for best connectivity with up to Gigabit speeds, using Fibocom L860-GL CAT16 LTE on the T490

ThinkShield
- The Match-on-Chip fingerprint reader enhances the privacy of fingerprint information by ensuring the biometric image never leaves the chip, thus delivering a more secure identification for login and online transactions.
- ThinkShutter is a physical camera cover, available on both RGB and IR webcams, protecting users from malicious webcam hackers
- ThinkPad PrivacyGuard activates screen privacy at the touch of a button. PrivacyAlert can even warn you if someone is snooping over your shoulder.
Lenovo has also made improvements to the ThinkPad BIOS. Most noticeable will be a new modern Graphical User Interface making the BIOS much easier to navigate. The company also developed a range of new UEFI-based BIOS security and manageability enhancements, providing users and IT administrators with higher levels of security and management capabilities:
- Administrators can set remote supervisor or privileged access passwords for better BIOS-level security. They can restrict port access, reliably delete all data from the hard drive using Secure Wipe or remotely manage system deployment with WiFi PXE Boot or HTTPs Boot.
- The self-healing feature of the new BIOS is able to revert to a known good backup copy in the event of BIOS corruption or a malicious attack.
Lenovo also introduced the Lenovo 14w with Windows 10 Pro and Lenovo 14e Chromebook laptops.

The new ThinkVision M14 monitor offers a simple mobile display solution for increased screen real-estate while on the move allowing users to share content with colleagues. Both USB-C ports can be used as a pass-through when connected to AC power and charge your laptop or simply connect and use as a second screen. The 14-inch FHD ultra-slim display (4.6mm) provides images with 300 nit brightness and includes a height adjustable foot for viewing comfort. At just 1.3 pounds (595g), the ThinkVision M14 is a lightweight travelers’ companion.
The X1 ANC Headphone, tuned by Dolby for Lenovo systems, offers enhanced audio capability and noise-cancelling features. Lenovo partnered with Synaptics AudioSmart to create a boom-less six mic array Hybrid ANC and ENC headphones. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) reduces distracting background noises, while Electronic Noise Cancelling (ENC) filters out those same background noises, allowing users to clearly collaborate through unified communications platforms or utilise digital assistant voice commands either in the office or on-the-go. The headphones can be used wireless through Bluetooth 5.0, or connected and charged by USB-C.

Lenovo Tab V7 Ultra-portable Tablet-and-smartphone-in-one
The new Lenovo Tab V7combines the benefits of an Android tablet including all-day battery life, great sound (Dolby Audio front-facing speakers) and a 6.9-inch IPS Full HD display, with the advantages of a smartphone that lets you talk, text and use data anywhere. The 18:9 display ratio also makes the screen taller with slimmer bezels for a 81 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 Mobile Platform, It comes equipped with front and rear cameras (5MP in front and 13MP in back, HDR images, night shot or panorama camera modes, bokeh effects), has up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of memory (with an optional 128GB microSD slot.)
The Lenovo Tab V7 comes with dual SIM card slots, sports a metallic rim and thin-and-light profile at 7.89 mm thin and 195 grams (0.43 lbs).
It is powerd by a 5180 mAh battery that offers up to 10 hours of local video playback and browsing time, and up to 30 hours of talk time. The adaptive battery setting on Android Pie OS also makes power consumption on the Lenovo Tab V7 more efficient.
The Lenovo Tab V7 will start at €249 including VAT and is expected to be available starting April 2019.
Latest IdeaPad and IdeaCentre Family
Just in time for spring, Lenovo unveiled fresh range of Windows 10 IdeaPad and IdeaCentre mainstream consumer PCs.
Available in 14-inch and 15-inch sizes in an all-aluminum chassis, the new IdeaPad S540 ultra-slim laptop balances performance with portability and longer battery life. Power packed with up to the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with up NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPUs or the option of up to an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U mobile processor with Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics, the IdeaPad S540 has more than enough horsepower for binge-watching a movie, word processing and online shopping. It also offers up to 12 hours of battery life with RapidCharge technology, which enables up to 2 hours of use with about a 15-minute charge.
Available in a trio of rich color options including Abyss Blue, Copper and Mineral Grey, the IdeaPad S540’s profile has thinner bezels than before – encasing an optional Full HD IPS display. Paired with Dolby Audio Speaker System, the IdeaPad S540 delivers loud and clear sound through speakers custom designed by Dolby. When it’s not in use, slide its integrated TrueBlock privacy shutter over the webcam for extra privacy.
The IdeaPad S540’s younger sibling is the new IdeaPad S340, which shows off an even slimmer and lighter profile than before in an array of four colors and 14-inch or 15-inch size options. Also boasting more power than before, this ultra-slim laptop has up to the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U processor with up to NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPUs, or the option of up to AMD Ryzen 7 3700U mobile processor with Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics.

The new IdeaPad C340 2-in-1 convertible laptop is a close cousin to the IdeaPad S540 and S340 ultra-slim laptops. It offers battery life of up to 8 hours with RapidCharge technology, Active Pen support on select models to sketch or write from anywhere, and an optional integrated fingerprint reader for quick and easy PC log-in. Also available in 14-inch and 15-inch sizes with three color options, the IdeaPad C340 can easily flex from a laptop for typing emails and spreadsheets into a tablet for watching videos during daily commuting.
Completing the new family of consumer PCs is the new IdeaCentre AIO A340 all-in-one desktop. The new IdeaCentre comes in a Business Black or Foggy White color option in a larger 22-inch or 24-inch Full HD display and thinner bezels than before.
The IdeaCentre AIO A340 offers up to Intel Core i5-8400T processor with AMD Radeon 530 or integrated graphics, or choice of up to 7th generation AMD A9-9425 processor with Radeon R5 graphics for daily work or home computing needs.
The new Yoga ANC Headphones designed for entertainment or focused productivity. Featuring hybrid ANC (active noise cancellation) and ENC (environmental noise cancellation) mics with voice assist and Dolby-tuned drivers that can intelligently filter out background noise during calls, the Yoga ANC Headphones will sound as good as they look.
