Tesla Releases New Model Y Teaser
Tesla has sent out invites to next week's unveilling event for the new Model Y.
Although the picture does not offer many clues, the upcoming Model Y is expected to be not very different in terms of design than Model 3, an assertion that has also been confirmed by Elon Musk. It is assumed that the Model Y will be a slightly taller and longer version of the Model 3 sedan.
The teaser shows a Model Y equipped with side mirrors, compared to a previous teaser that showed the Model Y without mirrors. Such a design would reduce the surface outside the car for better aerodynamic performance.
The Audi e-tron has been also introduced with virtual side mirrors, which consists of cameras and screens replacing the mirrors to reduce the surface outside the car for better aerodynamic performance.
However, having no side mirrors remains illegal in the U.S.
The Model Y is going to be unveiled at Tesla’s Design Studio in Hawthorne, California on March 14 at 8pm PDT.
