Games That Support Ray Tracing at E3

Games That Support Ray Tracing at E3

Gaming Jun 11,2019 0

Ray tracing, made possible a year ago with the introduction of the Nvisia GeForce RTX graphics cards, is supported by the gaming industry at this year's E3.

  • Quake II RTX, Battlefield V, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Metro Exodus and Stay in the Light (early access) are shipping with ray-tracing support.
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Sword and Fairy 7 recently joined the list of hit games that will be using ray tracing.

This week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, in Los Angeles, highly anticipated blockbusters Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs: Legion stepped into the ray-tracing spotlight.

The highly acclaimed Cyberpunk 2077 is the next project from CD PROJEKT RED, makers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It’s an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City. This week at E3, it was revealed the game will feature real-time ray tracing and that NVIDIA is an official technology partner for the game.

Unveiled by Ubisoft at E3, and launching next year, Watch Dogs: Legion will include a number of key RTX technologies and Geforce RTX is the official graphics platform for the game. Watch Dogs: Legion will use real-time ray tracing and other advanced NVIDIA gaming technologies to create great visuals in the third installment of the AAA, open world, action-adventure Watch Dogs franchise.

E3 attendees enjoyed an exclusive trailer for Control, featuring RT reflections and shadows. Launching on Aug. 27, the game will include support for ray-traced indirect diffuse lighting, ray-traced shadows and, for the first time, ray-traced reflections on opaque and translucent materials, in addition to other NVIDIA technologies.
