Sony cut the price of its PlayStation Now video-game service in half, to $9.99 a month, as the competition in online offerings is increasing.

Previously, PlayStation Now cost $20 a month or $100 for the year. Now,Sony is reducing the price to a more standard $10 a month or $60 for the year. Here’s the full breakdown for all the different regions:

• US: $9.99 – monthly / $24.99 – quarterly / $59.99 – yearly (from $19.99/ $44.99/ $99.99)
• CAN: $12.99 – monthly / $34.99 – quarterly / $79.99 – yearly (from $19.99/ $44.99/ $99.99)
• EU: €9.99 – monthly / €24.99 – quarterly / €59.99 – yearly (from €14.99/ (N/A)/ €99.99)
• £12.99 / (N/A) / £84.99)
• JP: ¥1,180 – monthly / ¥2,980 – quarterly / ¥6,980 yearly (from ¥2,500 / ¥5,900/ (N/A))

That $10 puts it on track with Xbox Game Pass and Google Stadia.

The company said Tuesday it’s also adding limited runs of top-selling titles to the service, such as Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.’s Grand Theft Auto V, and launching the first global marketing campaign to promote PlayStation Now.

Sony currently has the largest game library of any console game subscription service, with more than 800 games available.

Here are the games coming from October 1, 2019 until January 2, 2020

• God of War
• Grand Theft Auto V
• inFAMOUS Second Son
• Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Each month, the service will add a new selection of marquee games that will be available for a limited period.

Microsoft’s Box Game Pass service also starts at $9.99 a month. Sony’s price cut takes effect immediately.

Subscription-based video-game services are becoming popular as streaming technology improves, consumers see fewer reasons to own their favorite titles, and companies search for recurring revenue sources.

Apple introduced its Arcade service two weeks ago at a monthly price of $4.99. It features games created exclusively for the service. Google’s $9.99-a-month Stadia product, which uses its own $69 controller, will debut next month with games from companies such as Cubist Entertainment SA.
