Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Freecom intensify cooperation

Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Freecom intensify cooperation

General Interest Dec 10,2002 0

Since the beginning of 2000, Freecom, as an OEM partner, has been producing slimline drives optimised for the high quality requirements of Fujitsu Siemens Computers allowing Fujitsu Siemens Computers to offer its laptop customers an upgrade solution that leaves nothing to be desired. The Traveller II drives (CD, DVD, CD-RW and CD-RW / DVD Combo) which Freecom produces for Fujitsu Siemens Computers can be connected to any interface (PCMCIA / CardBus, USB 1.1 / 2.0 and FireWire / i.LINK). All the drives in this range can also be fitted with a rechargeable battery, so that Notebooks and external drives can genuinely be used in a mobile way. "Freecom has proven over recent years that it can consistently deliver top quality and react flexibly to the demands of the OEM business" comments Judith Raddatz, Head of Press Communications, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "It was therefore nothing more than a purely logical step for us to extend our cooperation with Freecom" continues Raddatz.

In its current mobile2 catalogue, Fujitsu Siemens offers its customers products from its partners which complements Fujitsus own range. With the Fujitsu Siemens Computers own Traveller II range, the computer manufacturer offers 100% coverage of drive requirements for the "professional" market. In order to provide the growing segment of consumers with the relevant solutions, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has now included Freecom-branded products in its catalogue. Amongst such products are the external CD- and DVD-burners of the FX range, together with the FHD-1 hard drives with their unique SYNC function.

"For Freecom, the intensification of the cooperation with Fujitsu Siemens Computers is proof that we are offering the right products at the right time. The differentiation between professional and consumer products is extremely important, in order to be able to offer the optimum solution for every individual user. The fact that we are now also offering Freecom-branded products together with Fujitsu Siemens Computers is therefore all the more encouraging for us", explains Tobias Riepe, Manager Corporate Communication at Freecom.

The cooperation covers the whole European mainland and will run for an indefinite length of time.
