Lite-On IT posts September revenues
Taiwanese optical storage drive maker Lite-On IT generated NT$3.846 billion in September revenues, up 12.2% month-on-month and 11.6% year-on-year, as DigiTimes report.
The company projected that its monthly sales will reach NT$4 billion in the fourth quarter as the industry enters the peak season.
This year Lite-On IT targets shipping 35 million optical storage drives. It shipped about 27 million units in the first nine months, according to company sources. The company has suffered suppressed shipments of its DVD+RW drives due to short supply of pick-up heads (PUHs). Currently, its DVD+RW drive production can meet only 80% of its orders, sources added.
In the consumer market, Lite-On IT expects to ship 100,000 home-use DVD recorders in the fourth quarter. Shipments in October, November and December are estimated at 20,000, 30,000 and 50,000 units, the company said.
