ALi launches new DVD player single-chip
Taiwanese IC design house ALi yesterday announced its second-generation DVD player single chip, according to DigiTimes.
The new chip, the M3355, integrates RF (radio frequency), servo and MPEG-4 decoder and will begin volume production this quarter.
For other DVD-related chips, ALi’s networked DVD processor (T6305) and media adapter processor (T6306) are currently in the design-in stage, according to the company. ALi also plans to launch solutions for DVD recorders and recordable DVD drives in the first half of 2004.
