Writing Quality Tests page 2 - Mitsumi CR-487ETE
We tested the Mitsumi CR-487ETE with a variety of other media in order to check the writing quality performance. Note that the below results are only from the 52X writing speed. The drive supports 52X writing only with selected media (SKC, MC, Imation, EMTEC) .
- 3T Pit results
As we can see from the above graphs, the 3T Pit Jitter exceeds 35ns RED book limit in some areas for all media. The Mitsubishi Chemicals 48X seems to produce the best results, although it produced high jitter values after the 62min. The rest of the media showed increased jitter earlier, when the recording speed was less than 40X. Below are posted the average values for all tested media.
Since the jitter for Mitsubishi Chemicals 48X is increased only by the end of the disc, the average Jitter value is lower than with other media. The rest discs gave average values higher than 35nsec.
- 3T Land results
The 3T Land Jitter values seem to be higher than the corresponding values of the 3T Pit test. The Mitsubishi Chemicals 48X produced the best results, while the rest media gave very high jitter which reached the 60nsec in some cases. Below are posted the average values for all tested media.

The Mitsumi CR-487ETE did not manage to give good results with the media we used in these tests. The drive produced high 3T Pit and Land jitter values with the most of the media and the only exception is the Mitsubishi Chemicals 48X media, where the average jitter was lower but not 100% adequate.
