Alera Technologies, developer and manufacturer of Advanced Optical Recording Solutions announces a new generation of its Award Winning DVD Recorder Solutions for Macintosh and Windows.

Alera Technologies now unveils its all new DVD Cruiser 16(, the external DVD recorder that records DVDs at state of the art 16x speed. The new DVD Cruiser 16 incorporates the proven Alera Technologies A-Connect I/O strategy providing flexible connectivity options for both desktop and mobile users. A powerful suite is included free, with purchase, with DVD authoring, writing and editing software, DVD playback software, and much more.

The Aleratec DVD Cruiser 16 DVD Recorder provides video professionals and enthusiasts with the key features needed for creating DVDs or CDs. It comes complete with the Award Winning software tools including NTI DragonBurn for MacIntosh and the Nero DVD/CD Suite for Windows with Nero Express, Nero Vision Express, Nero Backit Up and Nero InCD. CyberLink PowerDVD and MusicMatch Jukebox are also included. Now anyone can create professional video presentations and record them on DVDs on either a Macintosh or Windows PC in a format that can be played back on most DVD set top players and computer DVD-ROM drives.

The DVD Cruiser 16 incorporate today's fastest DVD Recording technology and it supports Double Layer recording for an 8.5GB recording capacity using Double Layer media. The DVD Cruiser 16 records DVD+R at 16x, DVD-R at 8x and DVD+R Double Layer at 2.4x when using appropriately certified blank media. This new external recorder also records CD-R at 48x and CD-RW at 24x. The unit can read DVDs at 16x and CDs at 48x.

The DVD Cruiser 16 (Aleratec Part # 270117, Ingram Micro SKU # E30329) has a low estimated street price of $199 and can be connected to multiple systems with different interfaces by merely changing cables with the unique Alera Technologies A-Connect strategy. The DVD Cruiser 16 external solution is offered with an A-Connect USB 2.0 Connection Kit. A-Connect kits extend portability between systems with different connection ports and buses.
