Alienware Aurora m9700 Notebook Gets 1GB of Graphics Memory

Alienware Aurora m9700 Notebook Gets 1GB of Graphics Memory

PC components Sep 6,2006 0

Alienware is adding more color to Aurora m9700 notebooks by offering two new color options, Conspiracy Blue and Cyborg Green with dual 512MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics cards. Already the first 17" mobile system to feature NVIDIA SLI technology, the award-winning Aurora m9700 now adds yet another achievement to its remarkable resume by becoming the first 17" notebook to feature 1GB of graphics memory.

"The newly enhanced Aurora m9700 reflects Alienware's almost symbiotic relationship with its customers, who asked that we reinforce our commitment to personalization by introducing new color options in notebooks," said Mark Vena, Vice President of Marketing at Alienware. "Given the enviable performance reputation that the Aurora m9700 has built since its introduction earlier in the year, we believe that adding additional colors, as well as offering dual NVIDIA GeForce GPUs with an incredible 1GB of graphics memory, continues to reinforce Alienware as the brand of choice for computing power and cool design."

The Aurora m9700, which recently racked up an Editors' Choice Award from LAPTOP magazine, now can be customized either in Conspiracy Blue, Cyborg Green or Saucer Silver. Beneath the colorful exterior lies a realm of previously unimagined graphics power, where twin 512MB Go 7900 GS cards ensure the notebook runs graphics-intensive games at extreme high-definition resolution and as flawlessly as today's most powerful desktops. Users can also immerse themselves in their favorite movies with high-definition video playback capabilities and manage large digital content libraries, especially music, video and images. No data ever has to be left behind either with up to 320GB of storage space on two colossal 160GB hard drives.

"The Alienware Aurora m9700 utilized the full power of NVIDIA SLI technology to make a major splash with gamers and reviewers alike," said Jeff Fisher, Senior Vice President of the GPU Business Unit at NVIDIA. "Now, with dual 512MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS GPUs, Aurora m9700 users have a mobile platform with graphics performance that will be envied -- even by desktop gamers."
