AMD's Lisa Su to Announce 3rd Generation Ryzen Processors at 2019's Computex
AMD will announce its highly-anticipated 3rd Generation 'Zen 2' Ryzen processors next month at a keynote speech by President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su at 2019's Computex trade show in Taiwan.
During the 27th May is the date set for thespeech, AMD is expected to make announcements about its 3rd generation desktop processors as well as its next-generation Navi GPU architecture, which will be introduced to its graphics card line-up in the near future.
We haven't seen any official announcements from AMD regarding its 3rd Generation Ryzen CPUs other than a brief benchmarking session
During January's CES event in Las Vegas, AMD provided an idea of 3rd Generation Ryzen CPUs, by pitching an unknown 7nm 8-core Ryzen CPU against Intel's Core i9-9900K. AMD showed that its new processor prevailed in the benchmarks despite drawing less power.
AMD is expected to add more cores to its new mainstream Ryzen CPUs -- from 8 currently with the Ryzen 7 2700X, to 16 with 3rd Generation Ryzen.
In addition, frequencies have been rumored to reach as high as 5.1GHz, which is a huge leap over current 2nd Generation Ryzen CPUs, which barely top 4GHz in boost frequencies.
