The first smart-home gadgets powered by Apple's HomeKit are expected to be ready for launch next month. An Apple spokeswoman told The Wall Street Journal that "HomeKit has been available for just a few months and we already have dozens of partners who have committed to bringing HomeKit accessories to market and we’re looking forward to the first ones coming next month." Fortune has since updated its story to say "some devices" have been delayed.

Appe announced HomeKit last year but it has not set a release date for the first HomeKit devices.
