Apple Rumored To Release New iPhones Later This Year
Apple is reportedly going to unveil an affordable iPhone 6C as part of the 2015 refresh cycle.
Alongside an iPhone 6S and iPhone 6 Plus S phablet, Digitimes.com reports that the iPhone 6C will use a polycarbonate construction and will run 20nm processors developed by TSMC. It will boast a 4-inch display rather than the 4.7-inch screen on the current iPhone 6, according to the report.
Digitimes also claims that despite lower specifications, the new handset, expected to be unveiled in September, will have a fingerprint scanner and will support the Apple Pay digital payments platform.
The report adds that TSMC will also supply 16nm processors for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus models, although it seems that Samsung will also processor supplier for the upcoming 6S models
