be quiet! Pure Base 501 DX LX
3. Conclusion
The new announcement of the be quiet! Pure Base 501 DX/LX series come to fullfill or we can say extend the Pure Base 501 series with more choices for users. The Pure Base 501 series is available without any ARGB installed and comes only with two fans. Users can also opt for no glass side windows.
The new DX/LX series adds ARGB to the mix along with more pre-installed fans (3x Pure Wings 3 for the DX variation, 4x Light Wings LX for the LX variation), along with a side glass panel and slightly different front panel. In our initial Pure Base 501 review, we liked the product since it managed to fix an Nvidia 4090 and an AIO 360 water cooler, resulting in our Best Buy Award, since the price was correct for a quality product with medium size. The new DX/LX series does add some features and also increases the retail price, since both the glass side panel cost and the additional fans as well.
Looking at the price, comparison, the Pure Base 501 with glass side panel costs €/$ 104.90 and the DX Black variation €/$ 20 more and you get ARGB and an extra 140mm fan, that's what more or less should cost after all. The LX series are higher priced, since now there are four fans and one ARGB controller pre-installed, again the price isn't bad if you consider what you are getting.
Since there are so many choices now, users can further select what kind of PC case they want from the Pure Base 501 series, a total black look, ARGB look (DX)? Or a full ARGB look (LX)? The choice is yours!
