BenQ has reportedly considering purchasing products from other makers for its own-brand business this month, according to Chinese-language Commercial Times. Digitimes.com reported today the products include BenQ's monitors, digital cameras and optical disc drives.

BenQ hopes that the move would help the company improve the profitability of its sales unit as well as the efficiency of its manufacturing unit.

Due to production line conversion, the supply for each of BenQ's product line has become tight in the first quarter.
